i never heard locally of dial range coming loose. the problem i saw was when you use your cocking device, it hits the knob and turns your settings. if you watch that your fine. i saw many put tape over knob. listen to ole sproulman,USE that 20 yd line only, dont shoot over 30 yards and you will come home with a nice buck.take care.

All right I've gotta get one. I am doing fine with my red dot but a different times of the day regardless of how bright or dim I have it set all three dots kind of blur together.

I can hear my wife now when the the brown bus pulls in; "what in the world did you order now?"

Well its just amazing I tell ya! IT has rained most of the day today but after I got off work the clouds broke and I was able to get out. I just can not believe it! I sighted it in as normal on the twenty yard line, put the main cross hairs right on. It took about nine shots and I was there! BUt that was normal, the test would be the other little marks. Well I backed up to thirty and hit a little high, made a adjustment on the speed dial and shot again. DEAD NUTS ON!!! Now at this point I am droping the load in my pants. I have never had a scope do this! Feeling great I back up to fourty, DEAD NUTS ON! This is just the best thing ever! I now have perfect aiming points at twenty, thirty, and fourty yards!! The only thing that I did notice and awshucks had made referance of this is the half inch clicks at twenty yards. I hit perfect centers at twenty and thirty but my fourty is just a tad bit off. If I make just one click, its to much. but hey its still in the two inch circle, just on one side of it. I still am amazed at how good it works! I hope that once the CEO's of horton found out about this little idea they fired there scope engineer! And I hope the excal guy got a big raise! And once again thanks to all my excal friend for talking about your stuff! Now I think I know what I want for Christmas, and as a hint it will match my scope! And roger you better get the check in the mail cause its worth it!

Hotburn; Neat little gadget, eh? Your 50 yd will be right on too, in case you can pop a yote or rabbit. Where the duplex thins down is good for 10 yds. Did you have any breeze while shooting at 40? I've found it don't take much air moving to have me chasing my tail at 40 and 50, lol. I shot two squirrels today w/ Phoenix, one at 30 in the head and one at 36 not in the head, lol. Got the back legs and back off of that one. Have fun!

I'm jumping on the wagon with the rest of you. Just bought a V-Zone. $122.00 for scope, rings, and bracket. Not a bad deal at all. Now the waiting begins.

Dan, the first time I shot I did not shot at fifty, pants were to soiled from fourty so I had to take a break. When I shot at fourty I had a little breeze, not much to even notice so it shot great. But after the cold shower went back out and shot the fifty and the breeze/wind had picked up a little and my arrows were having trouble staying in at four inches. So I stoped since I would only be hurting my confidence and will wait for a clear day. But my elevation was right on, just my windage was off left to right so I figured it was the wind. I also figured I would need to start weighing arrows and heads and such if I am going to start shooting at longer ranges. Or I could just get some arrows from the guy you talk about, sounds like he sells good stuff.
And roger you will only be happy if your horton mates up to the v-zone like Mine did! I just can't believe how "right on" it is! I think mine looks like it is set at about 315 or so. Also dan, is the little screw on the dial for locking it in place or is that just part of the ring and not to be messed with? I don't think it will move but just curious? Let us know roger when you get it!

I will,

I bought the rings and bracket that are made for Hortons. The rings are 1 inch. That is the right ring size correct?

Ya know I am not sure? I just took my multi retical off and the excal fit right in. So if the rings you got are for a multi retical the you should be ok I would think. But by the way it looks on the couch it looks like one inch but not sure?

Yep Green Pea thats the same rail and rings that I used on my legend HD 175 so it should work. It is so much better not having to hold over/under depending on range. The red dot that came on it was my first red dot....and may be my last...I grew up shooting with a scope and it is just so much better to me.

The rings are 1". The little screw on the speed ring seems to be a friction adj to me, but I don't know for sure. One of my V-zones seemed to have a looser ring than the other two, so I tightened the screw just a tad and it helped. It was loose enough that I was worried it would shift. I do know for a fact that all of your problems show up in spades at 40 and 50.
When I've suspected the breeze was getting me, I've gone so far as to reverse the target and shoot the opposite direction to see if the wind would blow me off target the same, only to other side. It did. Here's 3 at 50 w/ Emax w/ some light breeze. The black is 3". I was using the 50 yd aim point, and could have done better using xhair, but wanted hunting type situation.
