Do they actually work good for anybody? I have tried several different kinds of flat nocks on the 10pt and the barnett both and any of the flats will group much better. I ended up using 10pt system because they shoot as good as anything else and I can fix a fletch or refletch so much quicker and easyer. Is it because I use a slight helical? Lee

I know on some of the newer hortons you have to have a half moon nock because of the Micro Flight Barrel. If you use a flat nock on these barrels you will get bad patterns. I don't even think Horton offers the flats anymore. Not sure how they would shoot though on a inferior bow like the barnetts and 10pts compared to the majestic Hortons!

Lemoyne: My understanding is the half moon nocks are needed on xbows that have claws that pivot below the rail/arrow. The ones that pivot above the rail/arrow like Excal and 10 pt use the flat nocks. My understanding is you can use the moon nocks on any bow, but your accuracy will be better if the mfgr calls for flat nocks and ya go w/ that. I believe both Barnett and Horton call for the moon nocks, not sure about others like Parker or Great Lakes. The reasons for all of this are that the above the rail pivot pushes the string down onto the rail, and the below pivots tend to want to raise the string above the rail briefly. Hope this helps.
