Well folks lets face it, we are all kinda pushing our xbows as the choice to pick. We all put out good info and selling points. Now its up to the person to choose their own Bow. To each of us we picked our Bow fer reasons that was ours and it may or maynot work fer the newbie! I am not stepping on toes so don't whine or cry because i will send you a clean rag to wipe with. I didn't pick a compound style xbow because i wanted an enclosed trigger guard fer safety. There are some with that feature you say and those i didn't like the heavy trigger pull. I got what i liked and shot and thats how the calf ate the cabbage![8D]You bought what you liked and i am glad fer you and yer happy. Thats what i want here fer us to all be happy with our choice of Bow. If the Bow later doesn't work out don't be ashamed, heck get the next one you like and go with it! They make different ones fer different people so we can have a choice friend![

Aw,
I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers. I guess just too many years of hearing how great Excals are for that feature and I have only run into about 2 peole that have had to do it. No misunderstanding here. I was just off the computer yesterday getting the yard ready because of my trip. Oh yeah, had lunch on the swing set, played Star Wars guys and went on a bike ride. Had to make up for upcoming lost time with my son. We had a great weekend. I'm not upset at all.
As for the serving, most guys just take it down and have it reserved. You don't really need a NEW string, just ne Serving. The guys that shoot a BUNCH often do their own serving.
Gotta go to work!

Morning folks i see we are behaving nicely and i hope we are all happy, at least on this forum. OK my calender says i have 140 days until deer season. I hope all get their new Bows and get them sighted in. PLus all the other stuff that needs prior attention. Its really not that long, and when you run into problems you want those days to stop until you get things fixed and are back on track.

Well, these boy teflons go out and...
Just kidding. I am no chemist, but when we do the anodizing and hardcoatin, the teflon is part of that chemical in the hardcoat. It bonds to the metal some how and is hard as all get out. 65 Rockwell.
I hope I answered your question. If you want more detail, I can ask our engineer.

Nooooooooooooooo don't want an engineer involved LOL. A RC of that hardness must mean that they put a few bucks into the rail. Pretty amazing. My Exocet had a corner of the barrel (the full lenght) wear off in the second year. Looks bad if you notice it but the only difference I see it that it scratches a few of my painted, tarted up shafts.
Is the teflon on forever or does anything have to be done to it ten years later or lets say The Squirrel owns it for a year, any maintenance involved? BTW are the strings the thickest in the industry or is it my imagination that they look so fat?

Dnk: Do you "lube" your rails? LOL [private joke]
Randy: Having several years as a tool and die maker, I can relate to 65 Rockwell, which is totally amazing. These are aluminum rails, right? BTW: my feathers became ruffle proof somewhere between my 2nd and 3rd wife, LOL, I was more concerned w/ the shape of yours, which is the great thing about this forum over any of the others. Gotta go shoot a few, I love the smell of burning string wax in the morning!!

DNK,
From my understanding, it is pretty much in there for life. If Squirel knaws on it long enough it might come off. we have never done that sort of test.
I have not compared the other companies string size to ours. I'm sure ours is bigger though
.
Aw, yes, the barrels are alum. And I'm almost bald, so not many feathers left to ruffle. Here is a picture of me
. What do you think? Actually I have a little more hair then that.
