My favorites are 125 gr Spitfire or the 125 gr Thunderheads (out of a blind).

I've never had a problem with premature opening on the Spitfires-it's all in the way they are made, but I have seen 1 or more of the blades try to close back up after going completely thru the deer. I know that the blades all opened from the initial cut marks and the enormous exit hole. The deer usually don't go more than 80 yards with a hole like that.

I use the wasp jackhammer SST's mechanical. I love them so far. I have never used a fixed blade head and don't plan on changing. If I had to switch it would be to spitfires.
