Catsclaw I’m so happy for you,

What you experienced is what so many have tried to describe for so long. For a hunter, it’s not all about the harvest but what it entails up to and after the harvest. That day will be embedded in your mind for the rest of your life. The smell of the air, the feel of the cool brisk morning, and the camaraderie you shared amongst fellow hunters is yours to keep. But the most important emotion you experienced of all is the sense of being alive to take it all in.

The everyday routine of work, chores, and the hustle and bustle sometimes dulls ones senses and life becomes something you take for granted. When I’m in the woods appreciating the sights and sounds of nature my self worth is lifted and I somehow feel 10 feet tall once again.

Though it may not have been your intention you have become yet another voice for the hunter. Your story is awesome and may just open the eyes and ears of someone that sees hunting as ugly. I hope you tell your story a thousand more times, and down the road someone who was inspired by it tells it to me.

Thank you Green Pea!!!!

I've been lucky to find supportive people to encourage me. It wasn't always that way. Life has thrown me curve balls one after the other, but I won't blame it on outside forces. A lot about a person is defined by thier own mind set. The rest of it is determined by the people they surround themselves with. I've been battling my own demons all my life, and it dawned on me....if I keep giving those demons control over me, then thats where I'll be at theend my life. Sad and probably alone.

My hunt, and the brotherhood I felt with my fellow hunters will always be in my heart and soul. But it's the sense of self worth and value I walked away with that means the most. Not that my arrow hit home, but the overwhelming joy at doing what I set out to do, and leaving with more love for the great outdoors, and what Mother Nature has provided for us. I'm sure there are others who have felt this, but for me it came during a hunt. It was the most blessed event in my life!!! Thank you all for your support!!!!!

Ya just hit it on the head lady!
That is the number one reason I hunt. I never hunt alone unless it is with my bird dogs and then it would be better with my buddy Frank. When I hunt its with my best friends, Frank and my dogs!. Well said Stac! Again its the wisdon of a woman and the foolishness of men that makes my day that makes me smile. Stac, you are one of the guys for sure! I don't know who said it but here goes "the best friendships are forged in the field" or something like that.
