Hi,
Just wanted to point out the merrits of a Badlands Backpack.. I have used them for years and I have to say I am their number one fan! If you are serious about wild trekkig or hunting in wild places.. you neeed a pack thatis light before you load it up! Durable and easy to carry and use.. so anyway, thats my bit.. and as I constantly go on and on about them my daughter persuaded me to make a website about them.. I dont sell them myself.. just written a few things... so if you want a quality pack then go take a look.. thanks for reading!

I just got back today a 4500 I bought used online.
When I received this pack it was Hashed! torn shoulder strap, load tensioners were ripped out, hip belt was all tore up and a hole in a pocket.
I sent it in to Badlands hoping for the best but expecting the worst.
Today I got my 4500 hundred back with a new hipbelt, new shoulder straps and everything fixed. I could not be happier with Badlands. I also have a 2200 and a Superday but they have not needed any repair.
I hear people badmouth the company but I can find no fault. I will not buy anything else.
Good products and great service

got our hands on the new Badland Summit and Clutch the other day and am super impressed.
The new Summit pack (which replaces the 4500) is a huge improvement on the 4500 pack. Main differences are: 3lbs lighter, new suspension/padding, new ultralight durable fabric for the bag. I was expecting the new bag material to be noisy but it was fairly quiet. Specs: 6lbs 4oz, 4700 cu in
The Clutch (replaces the 2800) is basically a 2200 build (batwings and main bag) with increased storage capacity 3000 cu in now. It also has a little removable piggy-back pack. I'm a big batwing fan so I really liked this pack. Specs 7lbs 4oz, 2900 cu in.
We shot some informational videos so be looking for those soon on YouTube.

i would expect most of the badmouthing is due to the seemingly steep prices they ask for their product. no question its superior to regular pack but until they offer a product a little more affordable to the masses they will get flamed.

the pack i did decide to go with was a sitka. very smart design and is comfortable as can be and isn't cumbersome.

I hope you enjoy your Sitka.I do not see how their customer service could be as good as badlands but for your sake I hope it is.
I thought my 4500 would be too big. Actually it is my preferred pack once I started using it. The pack is simple 2 outside large pockets and the lid can carry everything I need including game bags and still be cinched down to be comfortable as a daypack. The thing is you cannot make a small pack bigger and if you need to load a small pack down you will find out what uncomfortable is really like. A smaller pack ( I have a 2200 and I just got rid of my superday) simply is not as versatile. I carried a pretty nice mule deer out of the Steens Mtns. with my Superday. It did the Job and went up for sale when I got home. I carried my Bighorn sheep out this year with the 4500 and I can tell you there is a huge difference in how the packs perform.

well it sounds like we both got the bag that suits our needs perfect. i confess my sitka isn't designed to carry an animal out of my hunting area, but considering i hunt in a place world renowned for large mature deer and wide open spaces; i will never need to.
if i ever did see the need for a larger pack i will likely just buy one!
good luck hunting this year fellas!

I've got a Badlands, and the doggoned thing is absolutely perfect. It can hold everything I want to take with me, and the compartments and tie-downs were designed by someone who knew what he was doing. The frame, belt, and support straps can be made to fit me like a glove, and I feel like I am hauling nothing when I haul 20 pounds, and next to nothing when I haul 40.
BIG thumbs-up
