Why do Battery chargers have discharge functions?
Why do Battery chargers have discharge functions?
It may seem odd that devices designed for charging batteries would have a built-in discharging function, but the discharge capability serves a useful purpose. The discharge function depletes the rechargeable NiCd or NiMH battery before fully recharging it. This discharge-charge cycle conditions the battery.
