Hunter06,
Before the dehydrator,I put mine on a broiler pan in oven on lowest setting(150-200) for about 4hrs(ck me on that one been many yrs ago).If you put meat on broiler pan you shouldn't have to turn meat. That will work just fine

Also can do same on charcoal grille on very low coals for same amount of time. throw in some smoke chips on coals if you like smoke flavor.

BTW - You can buy a basic dehydrator(only one setting - plug it in) for about 30 bucks.Fancier models have multiple settings and can get up there in price.

Good Luck

I make jerky (deer, beef, etc.) using as a base Dale's Seasoning....check out [link]http://www.dalesseasoning.com/product.html[/link]

This is my recipe and everybody likes it:

JERKY MARINADE

1 bottle Dale’s Seasoning (find at WalMart in marinade/sauce area)

1 large bottle Teriyaki Sauce

1/3 cup Worcestershire Sauce

2 bottles Liquid Smoke

Malabar course ground black pepper

(These amounts for 5 pounds lean beef strips.)

Put generous amount of black pepper in marinade then sprinkle strips as you load dehydrator.

Dale’s seasoning has enough salt in it you don’t need to add any.
