My dog loves the leg bones after the meat is removed. Our cat loves the scrap meat. It's not necessary to cook it, although it is all right to do.

little late here, but Ive left venison quarters on ice for 3-4 days no problem, before I bought my "game fridge"(yard sale fridge for $75 in the carport).
You gotta do what you gotta do. Especially when you have 70-80F days.
I also let the plug out, so it could drain.

My dog and yard cats love cleaned-out raw leg bones. The cats especially
turn into "little lions".
