Guys, check out the post in Off Season about ramps. They are a combination of onion/garlic type of wild onion.

And Thanks for posting the recipe! It sounds yummy good.

I own a farm in Braxton county WV, and went to college at WVU. The first time I had ramps was at the Ramp Festival in Webster Springs. This was in the late 80's. I ate a bunch...and thought they were great. Strong but great.

For the next 3+ days I stunk like onions. I don't mean mildly...I mean I outwardly stunk.

Only good thing was that the guys I lived with ate them too, so we all stunk!

I've had them several times since...I just make sure to eat them with the same folks I'll be spending the next few days with.

That 10 lbs of butter is what makes them good. You could hear your arteries slam shut with that much butter....

RonM...That's 10 tablespoons, not 10 pounds. ten pounds of butter in one pie would definitely make the cardiologist a rich man...LOL

GRNDZER...You'd be surprised how many folks in Ohio don't know what a pepperoni roll is. That's a staple food in WV. Right up there with vienna sausage and treat. LOL
