I watch hunting videos all the time and they show alot of misses and everyone gets a good laugh. I"m wanting some feed back on not so great hits and unrecovered deer. How often does it happen?

ShadowAce,
You might be right, I just noticed this myself.
This is a quote from a post by IllinoisBoy: "Maybe I can get some numbers from some of you bowhunters that have hunted a long time."
I'm not pointing any fingers, but, it does sound like something a non-hunter would ask!? YOU BOWHUNTERS?!?! If it is an honest question from IllinoisBoy, I apologize.
I'm just SICK of these "animal rights" groups.. I'll bet we (hunters) take better care of the things around us than any of them CLAIM to!! I make it a point to pick up any trash I find no matter where I'm at.
As for loosing an animal w/hunting, I have lost one deer, BUT, it wasn't from a poor shot.. It went onto the neighboring property next to where I used to hunt & the a-hole wouldn't let me retrieve the deer.
Later, Phil B.

Amen to Arthur. Guys have no fear there are way too many deer and way to much damage deer are doing to ban hunting. The deer need to be controled and bow hunting is the safe and ethical way to go.

PS: They are going to use the numbers game against bowhunters in the management argument. Meaning the percentage of total harvest taken. Not high enough to justify in their minds.

I went and checked out a PETA site because honestly i've never seen one before. It was interesting to say the least but I had to laugh about their whole outlook. However, I was raised to respect everyone's opinion and feelings toward things. I think it is rather silly but i do respect their outlooks.

It's not those type things I am referring to. It's the "How many deer have you failed to recover?" or "What do you leave in the woods?" type threads that concern me. Something they can twist into legal ammo. Such as "These are the numbers of deer that are not recovered every year" or, "Hunters litter the woods with all their garbage when they leave."

Say it like it is, don't lie, be able to explain what you believe and why and thats all you can do. I'll make no apologies for shooting animals through the lungs so they bleed to death in a very quick manner. I'm a hunter, its what I do

Burying our head in the sand, pretending these things don't exist ......... is worse than anything else we can do

Liberal judges, ShadowAce? I'd say liberal activist judges, actually. They're boils on society's arse, for certain. But, just like the anti's themselves, they're nothing more than a symptom of the social rot that's afflicting this country. Look at gay marriage, for instance. It's common sense that marriage is between a man and a woman. Because of liberal activist judges, that's not the case any more. Now we have to write laws and make Constitutional amendments to mandate what used to be common sense.
These anti's are people who have lost all contact with common sense and feel some misguided need to take action - even going so far as resorting to terrorism - to force everyone else to abandon common sense as well. Red Hawk says he respects their opinion, even though he thinks the opinion is 'silly'. The problem with them is, they do NOT respect anybody else's opinion. In fact, they have nothing but contempt for differing opinions. They're despicable antisocial degenerants as far as I'm concerned. Unfortunately, they're well financed and well organized despicable antisocial degenerants.
Organization... There's a laugh. They've been consolidating their power bases over the past decade while we... What have WE been doing? Pope and Young Club was the voice of bowhunters for many years. Hardly anybody shows the slightest bit of respect for P&Y now, because so many so-called bowhunters don't respect P&Y. In fact, most bowhunters won't even support their state bowhunting organizations, for some petty reason or other. In other words, bowhunters are a disorganized mob with no central lobbying agency and no political clout.
We bowhunters are our own worst enemy. When the battle is joined, we'll be going into it completely unarmed. That's what you need to be afraid of, ShadowAce. Not the anti's, not liberal activist judges. It's our own stupidity that you need to fear.

Shadowace,
I agree with you on liberal judges but there is something even more dangerous. Liberal teachers and teacher's unions. My six year old came home from school asking about vegetarians. Then after a few questions I realized someone had conned her into thinking red meat was bad for her. My wife and I explained to her the concept of a balanced diet. I never got her to tell me where at school she had heard that, but it's not a concept that came out of another six year old's mouth! We will be doing some more investigating on that. We may be home schooling her if this is the kind of stuff that we can expect.
