I have a good use for them, but I don't know about using them on Public land. If I had private land I would probably have a herd.

I have used one for the past couple of seasons and have mixed results. Using it as a doe, I have had many small bucks come in and check it out. One giant 8 pt wanted nothing to do w/ it and bolted after it approched to 20 yds but no shot opportunity. What I did learn on that occasion was to make sure the decoy is far enough upwind. If I would have placed the decoy 20 yds farther I would have had a chip shot at the 8 [:@] But it is fun sitting there and watch the reaction of deer to the decoy. I have yet to have any luck using the decoy as a buck, but I will continue to try.

I have had one small buck get scared of it. Other than that good results. keeps there attention off of you when setting up to shoot. I also put the decoy far enough away so the deer still has to come within range without getting spooked from it. When i leave it in the woods i cover it, coyotes like them.

Thats a pretty cool pic! I have always wanted to try a decoy but never got the balls to. I will this year just to see what happens! Good luck
