You know, before I posted that, I hesitated wondering whether or not to get into this. I already regret it.

I don't disagree with most of you, I was only making a statement of using the formula for Kinetic energy.

Nowhere in my post did I say that the two different arrows were fired out of the SAME bow. (to be fair, I didn't say they were not either.)

I didn't say they were shot out of the same bow. Just two different weights and two different speeds.

mainehunt,
I guess I was responding most to what you said about speed being more important with regard to kinetic energy. Sorry if I offended you but the implication you clearly made is that it is better to go with the lighter faster arrow to get more KE and that simply is not the case. When you choose a lighter faster arrow you loose energy.

I understand and its clear that ijimmy understands what you are saying regarding the KE formula and in fact back on page 2 I said the following:
Can lighter faster arrows cary more KE than heaview slower arrows. Of course but that doesn't say anything practical. A practical statement is that if you shoot a heavier arrow out of the same bow it will cary more KE than a lighter arrow shot from the same bow.

OK can any one tell me how much KE i am getting out of my bow?

My bow is set at 90# I shoot 297 fps, 29 in draw 29 1/2 in arrow 2514 xx78 arrow is 550 gr.

I would like to know my KE and monenum if I can get it.
