I guess I was responding most to what you said about speed being more important with regard to kinetic energy. Sorry if I offended you but the implication you clearly made is that it is better to go with the lighter faster arrow to get more KE and that simply is not the case. When you choose a lighter faster arrow you loose energy.
I understand and its clear that ijimmy understands what you are saying regarding the KE formula and in fact back on page 2 I said the following:
Can lighter faster arrows cary more KE than heaview slower arrows. Of course but that doesn't say anything practical. A practical statement is that if you shoot a heavier arrow out of the same bow it will cary more KE than a lighter arrow shot from the same bow.
