I may just pass on the bow season all together around here. I'm not going out this weekend, heading to Ontario in 1 week so I don't care about this week. The more I think about these idiots running the show the more pissed I get. They have all these pre-season hunts that I can kill anything I want without a lisence. Now they want us to buy a bow tag for a season that will last a month, when the deer have been blasted at most of the summer. On top of that, they say kill them all, but you have to shoot a doe first to earn a buck. Now correct me if I'm wrong, a doe around here will have 1 or 2 fawns in the spring. How many doe do you think 1 mature buck will breed this fall? 10? 20? 30? The DNR says, lets just let that buck walk and hope some one kills him later. How many chances do they think a buck like that will give a person? This eradication Zone is the biggest joke our DNR has given us since they tried to sell us SAK.
On the lighter side; I did just receive an offer from an old high school buddy to bow hunt up by him. He has access to a few hundred acres up by Adams out of this cluster *^#+ of a "core area". So I'll pick up a bow tag when I return from moose hunting and spend some time up there.
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face='Verdana, Arial, Helvetica' size=2 id=quote> Nub, Whats your idea as to how they should handle it? I have heard lots of resistance on the eradication area with landowners. I think we need to trust the DNR on this one , Their bioligists know more than we do, and aint telling everything. after the gun season it will be interesting to hear how far it spread. we need to close down or heavily regulate the game farms. The DNR had a few deer found in the erradication area with ear tags. Either they were escaped or set free because they were sick. I dont know if its true but i heard a elk was tested positive in MN. anyone here about this? Damn big game farms, for losers who cant hunt the real way.
