I was cleaning ( 4 letter word) up last night and found my old fiberglass arrows (not fish arrows).
I killed 2 or 3 deer with them before I changed over to Al. arrows
I think they are 25 or so years old
They were as tough as the carbon arrows now but a little heavyer than alumin.
Did any of you hunt back in the stone ages with them like I did ?

Graphlex shafts I remember them ,never used them.
If I remember they weighted more than carbon and prone to blow up if shot to many times into a hard straw bale target.

I remember. Never used'em as I just couldn't pull myself away from the 2117. I also remeber an arrow with a broadhead attached. The broadhead/arrow combo were hollow inside and the theory was that blood would channel out the wound through the arrow and onto the ground. Even back then I knew it was a silly idea. Evidently so did everyone else as they didn't last very long.

Yeh, I shot glass for a while. Then went to alum. Had some of those Graflex, too. They were sweet for the times. Fully 20fps faster than my 2018's. I guess if you are old enough you remember that those were the days when some good, tight straw bales would stop an arrow, too. 220fps was a fast setup and my Jennings ArrowStar was clocking an unbeliveable 232fps.

I shot wood then to forgewoods (compressed wood) then fiberglass made by- Micro-Flite & Gordon Glass. Micro-Flite was supposed to be the best. Then to Aluminum-Easton gamegetters-they were all black when they 1st came out & the black would wear off. Then came the camo anodized arrows. I also had a Baker climbing tree stand that was pretty scary back then. Other old things I remember was Broadheads-MA3 & 2 blades-Howard Hill 2 Blade-Hi Precision 3 blades-oo3 Blades-Hilbre 2 & 4 blades (plastic ferril) & of course the Bear razor head with the optional bleeder blade-then came the heads with replaceable Razor Blades, the for runners to many of todays heads.
Today I shoot easton Aluminums & Rocky Mountain 3 Blade Ironheads.
Oh, my 1st animals were taken with a variety of Bows like the Eddings Cadet, Pearson Mustang & Golden Soverign, American Archerys Cheetah, Groves Spitfire & Damon Howatt. I also remember when a release was a piece of plastic with a tiny ledge that if you didn't keep the pressure just right you may loose a few teeth or shoot something not even close to your target. I also remember pounding a small finishing nail into my recurve for a rest so my little brother could shoot it left handed. I still have that bow as I killed my 1st deer with it my 2nd year of Bowhunting. I can remember many OLD things. just ask.l
