I use a pocket stone. Just pull them towards you 2 times on each side. They take an edge real easy.

s-24 sharpening file, stone and strop. The angle it pre-set. I use it for two or four bladed heads.

for $10 you can get 3 new sets. Why even bother with trying to get them sharp? Use one set for practice and keep a new set for hunting.

A sharpener in the hands of most people will do more harm than good.

DC, do you use these heads? If so do you think that they come out of the package razor sharp? I just bought some and shot them yestereday and my first impression was that yes they do shoot as good as field tips but I don't think that they are very sharp out of the package. Thanks

Mine sure did.

But hey, there is nothing wrong with resharpening then.

I've heard alot of people complain about the sharpness out of the package. This is why its important to me to know how to sharpen the blades. Not only that, but after you put them in and out of your quiver a few times, its a good idea to touch em up. I think to many people overlook the importance of a razorsharp head. If there not, you will lose alot of energy just punching through the thick hide of an elk..

I use a crock stick knife sharpening system to sharpen them and a small pair of vise grips to hold the blade while doing so.
I sharpen all blades AFTER I have used that particular head/arrow combination to punch an X in the center of my broad head target at 30 yards.

If it won't cut soft hairs with little effort, they don't hunt.

Just make sure after reinstalling them on the arrow that they spin with NO wobble. If they wobble just loosen the head and turn the washer again and retighten until they wobble disappears.

If your no good at obtaining a decent edge, then by all means use new ones.
(you can mail the "old" ones to me ).
