Easton Axis, Who here use them?
#11
After talking to different people who have tried them, locally, I have recieved about the same info that is posted here on the form. About 50% of the people like them, and 50% don't like them. Of the 50% that don't, its all because they have had problems with them. Now I am sure that some people (small%) are so biased towards one product that they will come up with a bad story or over exagerate a bad experience about another competitors product just to make the product their using and themself look very good. But to have almost 50% of the people say they are having problems, well that is way to much for me to overlook and ignore. If and when Easton work out the kinks I will maybe consider trying them. I have to have compleate faith that my bow/arrow/broadhead como will perform on a big bull elk when asked. Nothing else will do. Its true that I am blessed to be able to bowhunt elk every year, but I don't take it for granted or appreciate it any less than a Jon Doe hunter traveling from afar to come here for his/her once in a lifetime dreamhunt. I put 110% effort into my hunting and I expect my equipment to perform the same. I thank you for your honesty and input. I still don't know what arrow I am going to use yet, but I know what arrow I WILL NOT USE. Thanks Jason

To be honest consider this.....if they had really had 50% to dislike the product & compalin why would Easton introduce this into 3 addtional arrows in the Easton line & then a couple of shafts in the Beman line? Dosn't sound like they must have had too much bad expereinces!
I like a lot of arrows, CArbon Express CX shafts are good, Easton ACC, and Beman ICS are all great shafts. I have heard a ton of good about Gold Tip as well. I think most are good arrows & in the end any shaft will do a most bowhunters good!
My best advice is to go to a Easton dealer buy a couple of shafts & try the Axis. If you like it great if not try out several others! As someone mentioned it would be a pain in the butt to be a dealer & sell the Axis! I think it is more of an arrow for the do it self arrow builder.
Good Luck.

What is your draw lenght and draw weight?
If you want to try the Axis for yourself I could send you a couple of 400's fletched with 5" vanes these are cut to 27 1/2" so you can try them out.
The only problem I have had with them was one broke right in front of the insert but that was after I had shot a rabbit and the broadhead hit caught a steel pole the other problem was when I was tuning my bow for them and decided to test their flight with a muzzy 3 blade 100 and aimed at the nock of the arrow already in the target the first arrow split like a banana skin after the muzzy hit it looked rather cool pity I did not have my camera with me at the time.

Ausie-guy, that is very generous and I thank you for it, but my draw length is 30" the shortest arrow I can shot is 29" if you had any that long, or longer I would take you up on your offer. Again I thank you for it, they say bowhunters are a tight knit group and I agree 100% and your kind ack proves it. I have never seen a anyone other than family offer to give away free ammo to try. Anyway I would like to buy and try them, but at the same time I don't trust them because of the reviews. I agree with Orions_Bow, that in all honesty the percentage of people that don't like them is a lot lower than 50%. But out of the people who I have talked to, (which is very few compared to all the archers using them) it is around 50%. Now I do like Easton Products, and have shot their aluminum arrows for years with good success. But like I said before I have to trust my equipment 100%, the last thing I need to worry about when hunting is that my equiment doesn't fail me. Now with this said I have a lot of time to change my mind before next season starts. After all I don't even have my bow yet, its on order but Mathews hasn't shiped any new left hand switchback's yet. So who knows, if someone will let me buy 3 arrows I would be willing to give them a trial. I also want to try the Gold Tips, I have heard a lot of good reviews about them as well. And on the plus side the gold tips only cost $45 to $60 a dozen when the Axis cost $100 to$110 a dozen. Also nobody had mentioned about the Beman Black Max they too cost around $100 a dozen. But they are suppose to be even better than the Axis, or so I have heard.

I've been shooting them since last april and I love them. I had no straightness issues or damage issues. I killed 3 deer with the same arrow this year and I'm still shooting it. I would recommend this arrow and the A/C superslim may not be a bad option.

Wolf killer thanks for your reply, I actually have found a very good deal on some Gold Tips, I might try my own experiment with the Axis, depending on if I can just buy three arrows, but until I hear better reviews, I will not use them.
