do you NEED a release for a bow?

no i am serious though.. do u need a release for a bow???? or is it not really necessary... or is it like having a scope on a rifle???

Yes it is kind of like having a scope on a rifle. Shooting with a release will allow for a smoother release, but a release also may be a necessity to prevent string pinch on a shot axle to axle bow.

Yup, they all come out with some kind of "release" fan fare in the magazines. It's necessary. MMmmmmmm ... Mmmmmm... Mmmmm..... ., Well you know which bows I mean, are really heavy in their releases. You know something like "Q2 rattles the Heavens and time stands still" Yup, releases are real important.

I started out with fingers, then went to a tab, and now finally use a release.Each time at least for me it was an improvement.I would say going from fingers to a release is alot like going from open sights to a scope on a rifle.

I used the finger release method for 15 years before switching to a release 7 years ago . Today's bows are getting shorter , making it more difficult to get a good clean finger release.
