As I have indicated in several other threads, I am in the process of upgrading to a Mathews Switchback. I have never owned a Mathews bow before and only shot the Switchback several times on the day I purchased it. None the less, I was wondering how well the built-in harmonic dampers and string suppressors work. Is there a need to add additional vibration and/or noise reduction products. If so, what would you recommend? Thanks Again, your help and opinion is greatly appreciated.

I have the Outback, and had a LX, and the harmonic dampers and string suppressors work great. I use the brass dampers. I took the stablizer off my Outback due to it just doesn't make a difference. This is the first bow of about 50 I've owned that doesn't need a stablizer. I told my wife one day that the string suppressors were just a gimic. I decided to pull the suppressors out of the arms. After 4 shots, I was putting them back. There was a small amount of hand shock without them. I put a set of Limb Savers on the bow but I really don't think they add anything. If I were to have a dry fire, they might be a "limb saver". I have a loop, kisser button and two small whiskers and I can't think of any other item that would help or make a difference. Don

I use limb savers on mine as well as a doinker stabilizer. The limb savers didnt do anything noticable, and i like the stabilizer for balance mainly. I also use the brass dampeners.

I have a Legacy and an LX and I use the brass dampeners and limb savers and a stabilizer for balance as much as anything. You should not need anything else on the string.

Does anyone use the Carbide Dampners instead of the Brass???? Was wondering if anyone knows if it made a difference or not.

I have a stabilizer on my outback for balance. I put limbsavers on and noticed no difference. Cat whiskers will only slow it down. Don't do what DoninVa did and take the suppressors out...mathews says this can damage the bow.

I use the carbide dampeners. I had the brass in originally and found my bow arm getting tired after a dozen shots. I tried taking the stabilizer off and I had too much kick back. I put the carbide dampeners in and my problem was solved.

Even with the dampeners and string supressors I still use limb savers and cat whiskers. The way I see it , theres no such thing as being too quiet.

I use the Aluminum Dampener for the top, and a Brass one for the bottom, that way my LX drops away very nicely. I use Cat Whiskers on the string, and they do quiet it down even more. I have no Limb Savers, but the only thing they are going to do, is take some vibration out of limbs, they really won't hurt the bows performance.

I agree with the idea of there's no such thing as a bow thats too quiet.
On my Mathews Switchback I have limb savers, a custom-made (locally) stabilizer, and cat whiskers. I've always used the brass dampeners, but I like the idea of one of each...I might try that on this bow.
