Default I need a distraction!

Well down in Mississippi, it is said that is snows every four years. It is surprisingly accurate. It has snowed twice since I lived down here, and it is supposed to snow Christmas Eve. I have always wanted to hunt in the snow. The problem is I would have to go hunting on Christmas! If I hadn't ordered some trapping supplies and my bow press, I could have asked to hunt that whole day! I now need a distraction to get me out of the house. To create my distraction, I would like each and everyone of you guys to come to my house. We will stage a HUGE crash in front of my house (hopefully no one gets hurt), and as my parents run outside, I will jump in one of your cars, and we will leave. I will give you guys a sandwich if you help.

If by any chance that you guys pass up the wonderful offer of a sandwich, (ham or turkey; your choice) I have a back up plan. I would buy several boxes of mashed potatoes and spread them around my stand. Would that be considered baiting?[:-]

I haven't been hunting much lately. I have been extremely busy. I work as an usher at a casino theater. Well, we are showing a Beauty and the Beast play for 5 weeks. Each play is about 3 hours long. A man cannot stand that! I had a guy come up to me after 5 minutes and he asked how long I had to stay. He said he had enough of it. I told him I had 2 more shows tonight, and another month to go! His eyes got real big and he told me he was sorry!

I would like to go hunting today, but having a bulldozer under your stand pushing trees out of the ground isn't going to attract deer, or could it. If you guys come down here, we can have a major deer drive. I'll provide dump trucks, bulldozers, and digger trucks!

That sound's pretty good zak ,I might just have to try and help you out with that.If you want to hunt in the snow then maybe you should come up to my place here in Ontario ,but if your thinkin=g that it's going to be a picnic ,you've got another thing coming .The snow here is at least 2 feet deep and your unable to get back into the wood's by vehicle, the wweather here yesterday was -35 but only -2 this morning .The other problem is when you take a deer in this type of snow ,you'll be dragging it out by hand ,there's usually no problem finding the deer since blood show's very well in the snow .But just maybe I'll lone you my snowmobile to help drag that deer out .My only concern is how I'm going to get you here and get in the hunt and then back home before your mom and dad notice your missing LMAO.

Maybe consider coming to Ontario next season and I'll give you a warm place to sleep and food for your belly, and I'll take you hunting in the snow .It's definetly different .

wow that is funny. But i dont think it will work very well, and someone could get hurt...

Hunting in the snow is not all that it is cracked up to be. but is fun when the deer are moving.... You had better make sure you dress warm. about two weeks ago i was out bow hunting and while i was out it had snowed 2 inches... One little hint for ya make sure you clean out your peepsight often!! It really sucks when you have a shooter come in and you draw just to find you peep sight is full of snow.

I'd like to help you but I'll be hunting. In the snow likely too as it snowed here yesterday. Already got one in the white stuff about 3:30 yesterday afternoon.

Truth be known, the only thing snow buys you is a cold hunt. Most people want the snow because it's easy to spot new tracks. You can do the same timing of tracks if you spend time scouting and learning tracks. The best way I found to do this is to go to a local walking path and look for deer. This allows you to stay healthy with a walk and learn how to read tracks. When you see a deer, go and examine the tracks. Note the crispness of them. The next day do the same when you see the deer but return to yesterday's tracks. See how they look 24 hours later. Just repeat everything each time you go out. I use to be able to notice a change down to almost an hour. You can do better if you try a little.

Good luck

I actually would like to hunt in the snow because I would like to see my hunting spot covered in snow. I think it would be really neat.

Zak

I like to hunt in the snow as well. Everything looks so different. It's a nice change now and then. You will enjoy it if you get to go.
