in iowa where i hunt if you shot an animal you have to go and get it. it doesn't matter whos property it is on... if you shoot one in iowa and it runs into someone elses land you have to make an effort to find the animal you dont even have to ask the land owner (but you cannot take your weapon on the land that you dont have permission to hunt.)

luckyone i would do whatever needed to find that deer. i would do as others mentioned and go out at 3 am and find ur deer. u r damn near guranteed to not get caught at that time. good luck w/what ever u decide to do.
