well i don't know if any of you remember my post about if you would expect anything in return for hunting permission if you were a landowner. well turns out i went to talk to the landowner today to see what his brother and farm help got gun hunting and he said nothing but the neighbors woods shoot a big 10 and a little nubbie buck. well thats cool i said and then i asked him if he wanted a little venision from the deer i shot off his land? well i have never seen a guys eyes light up so much, he was so happy and asked and said sure i will take whatever you want and then i made sure it was still alright to late season bow hunt and he said yep but next year just make sure you come talk to me to let me know what or where you are going to be hunting. this is the exact response i was looking for was for a good note for next years hunting permission.
just figured i would share this, just goes to show if your nice to landowners and respect them it seems to be they respect you twice as much.

I've always thought that it is only proper to offer the landowner a choice morsel as thanks for allowing me to hunt there . What's a backstrap compared to the privelege of the hunt ?

You might think this is extreme but my first goal is to quickly get my land owner the first deer. I get a doe tag and a buck tag here in Kansas. Usually the first day I will get a doe. After that I wait about a week and then start hunting my buck. i,ve been hunting on the same property for 12 years.

The land that I hunt ,I alway's offer to help ,I yet to have a land owner to except my offer. When ever I get game or fish I alway's make sure the land owner's get a small share .I continue to offer around there property. In some case or even most case's the offer is enough . So never quit offering .

Venison to the landowner is a good thing... I have an evening hunt location that's a given for deer sightings... and the landowner, although he's never asked, certainly appreciates the packages of venison I've provided. It's a nice way to say "thanks" again for letting me participate in a sport I love, while graciously hunting on the property of another.
