SMOKING VENISON

Default SMOKING VENISON

I obtained an OLD STEEL ICE BOX and was wondering if any of you would know the best heating element to use in it. 500watt or 700watt or smaller or bigger.. ANy ideas? I would need it to run off of 110 or 120 house recepticle

I would say 700 watt but remember the bigger you go the more amps you are going to draw which means more on your electric bill. You would probably want to install a thermostat too just so you can regulat the heat.

I called my local Hardware store, and they told me to get a HOT plate..thats what the guys use around here i guess.. Some use two.. One for smoking the chips and one for controlling heat. But i think I would only need one
