Sweet deer! That is one big a$$ hog! I would say bad genetics on the rack. He doesn't look too young or too old to account for the small rack.

WOW, that's a BIG deer. Congrats. I would have to agree on bad genetics so you did good to cull him.

He's gonna make a great mount. maybe put it in your living room or something. I don't think my wife would like to look at a deer while we were "ya know". It would probably distract me a little too.

The nutrients and minerals can only do so much. I have seen as many big bodied, small racked bucks as small bodied, big racked. It takes age, nutrition, and genetics to get both. Imagine what your buck would look like two years from now(he looks to be 2 1/2). He would have been close to 300 lbs and probably scored about 140. I shot a buck last year about that size and got 120 lbs of meat back even with one bad shoulder. Happy eating.

Sometimes a big-bodied pig is more impressive than an average P&Y deer, to me at least. Great job on a true slob!
