I had a bad time with a neck shot. Shot high on a quartering away deer and hit the neck, it didnt work for a quick kill. Others might have had better luck, but I wouldnt do it again.

Not with a bow I would not.I have with a gun at close range,I mean 20 yards, then I am sure I wont miss. I did this year with a muzzy loader at 12 yards ,blew the neck half off

Hit a Buck the other day in the Neck, not on purpose I hit all meat never did find him.

But my neighbor shot a Buck that had been shot in the Neck, and it was healing fine.

I saw a neck-shot doe once spew so much blood it looked like it was being sprayed out of a garden hose. (I wasn't the shooter; just saw the aftermath.) Having said that, it is an extremely low-percentage shot. Like someone mentioned above, there is just too much meat and the carotid artery and windpipe present too small a target. If you've got a neck shot, just be patient and you'll more than likely get a lung shot -- where the size of the target grows exponentially and your margin of error is much greater.
