Default The Perfect Stand....

There's so many different places to set up stands...funnels, feeding areas, etc. I have my stand set up off on a field where the deer often feed. It's a perfect stand for me because I'm high enough where I'm almost always out of scent range, and the whole field is visible. The deer come from a creek bottom on the far end of the field and walk a woodline which brings them very close to my stand. It's an awesome place during rut because so much goes on there. So many different combinations....what's your Perfect Stand?

I have 3 favorite stands in three differnt states. The one thing they all have in common, is that they are all FUNNELS! I love each of these stands, and they seem to work year after year.

I've got a particular tree on our farm in WV where I always seem to kill deer. It's nothing fancy....just a tall straight white oak with no limbs to 40'. I just put my climber (I'm not a climber fan) about 22 feet up in that thing and the deer seem to come. I've killed 5 deer in 2 years from that tree, and my buddy killed another this past year.

There's a huge hollar to the west of the tree about 75 yards...and the only place to cross leads the deer under that tree. It's in the woods...around other trees...it's just that this tree is "special".
