Aah, Antler Eater, you crack me up yet again! :D
Congrats, mathewsboy! I too found it, er... humorous, at best, to read the posts with all the people jumping on the negative bandwagon again. I too have dipped arrows, and there's been times I couldn't see the point of impact, again, often in broad daylight. |
RE: (UPDATE) Where was this deer Hit..?? (UPDATE)
Thats the best news yet! Way to go! You must feel great! I like the way you handled the situation!:)

RE: (UPDATE) Where was this deer Hit..?? (UPDATE)
CONGRATS on finding him!!!! I helped my cousin find a deer that was hit like yours, and we found him by the crick that separated his from another property.....water is always a good place to look with a marginal hit.

Liver is a funny one. Shot my elk this year through the liver-gut-out the bottom this year and he made it quite a ways. Made the exact same shot on a mule deer and he just stood there shook on the spot for 5 minutes or so then went down 30 yards from me. The critters will die but some take longer than others. Something i noticed in both my elk and my mule deer was that the animal stops and hunches up or archs the back.

RE: Where was this deer Hit..??
IMO i thank that you might have got a gut shot or a intestant shot or you might have hit some meat. but if you did hit the deer a little far back dont get discouraged those shots can somtimes be lethal. the first deer that i killed with my boy was 22 yard and was just tiping along i shot her on the move and she fell right there( i hit her just infront of her hind quarter in the intestants) so i would go back and check the area good.
