Been lurking for a while, never posted till now. First bow buck. Last Monday, 11am. I had 2 button buck under my stand for about 2 hours when I heard him coming toward me. I couldn't get a good look at him as it was too thick, but I could see that he had antlers. He bedded down also and I watched him for about 30 minutes but he wasn't moving. Since it was starting to get late in the morning, I though I would hit the grunt tube and see if I could get him moving. I got him to stand up and saw the rack and knew he was a shooter, but it was too thick where he was and he bedded down again after about a minute. I waited for a little while longer and the 2 button bucks finally got up and bugged out. It was starting to get late and I didn't feel like waiting all day for the buck to move, so I started on the grunt tube again, but he wouldn't get up. Then I tried the can mixed in with a couple grunts. Still no dice. I was starting to get impatient as I needed to get out of there. I remembered that I had an apple in my pack, ate it down to the core, stood up and with my bow in one hand, threw the apple at the buck. Forgot to mention that while I was watching and waiting on him (hour and a half) I had ranged the tree that he was behind at 25 yards. The apple landed about 5 yards in front of him and he stood up. I drew, but he was still in thick stuff and he wasn't moving and I had no shot. I let down and waited. He turned his head and looked the opposite way I needed him to go and I got worried he would start walking that way and I wouldn't get a shot. I hit the grunt tube twice and he turned and started towards the opening in brush. I drew and he gave me a shot. I took it and dropped him with a spine shot in the neck.
