That is the way to practice in the off season. I dont know about you all but here in Oregon you can shoot them all year long and it is a blast with a bow. Get a electronic game caller and a decoy and a double bull blind. Sweet fun for sure. got 11 out of 12 last summer.

I almost cashed in on one Saturday morning. It was about 8:45 and I heard something moving in from behind and a little east of my stand. So I get up slowly and get into postion. A few minutes later, I see a healthy looking coyote slipping through the brush coming my way. Well, he decides to change course and head uphill approx 50 yards away from me. After waiting about 30 seconds to see if he'll come back by, I made a few soft fawn bleats on my truetalker grunt call. Sure enough here he comes. Well, those dang yotes sure can see.
He picked me off as I was trying to get my bow drawn and he didn't stick around to find out what I was. Although I was impressed at how quickly he came to investigate the fawn bleat. We have an unbelievable amount of coyotes on our hunting lease. It's a large brushy tract of land that is surrounded by prairy, perfect habitat for yotes. I wish there was an easier way to thin the pack.

I called one in Saturday night to around 25 yards, but he had better eyesight than I anticipated. He was spooked and wouldn't stand still, or take his eyes off of me long enough for me to pull my bow back! I love hunting ground blinds, but I think I am going to have to get in a tree to get me one....Oh well.
Good job, and thanks for the motivation. I am ready to get back out there and pop one now!
