I almost cashed in on one Saturday morning. It was about 8:45 and I heard something moving in from behind and a little east of my stand. So I get up slowly and get into postion. A few minutes later, I see a healthy looking coyote slipping through the brush coming my way. Well, he decides to change course and head uphill approx 50 yards away from me. After waiting about 30 seconds to see if he'll come back by, I made a few soft fawn bleats on my truetalker grunt call. Sure enough here he comes. Well, those dang yotes sure can see.

He picked me off as I was trying to get my bow drawn and he didn't stick around to find out what I was. Although I was impressed at how quickly he came to investigate the fawn bleat. We have an unbelievable amount of coyotes on our hunting lease. It's a large brushy tract of land that is surrounded by prairy, perfect habitat for yotes. I wish there was an easier way to thin the pack.
