Default Always talk deer

I have a horse shoe shoved up my you know what. I just picked up 350 acre farm in Kansas with full offer from the owner to get my tags ahead of time. How? I always work hunting into my casual conversations. Just start to do this and possiblities will open up.

Good luck

I am the exact same way. I always bring it up in some fashion when the opportunity presents. I've made many new hunting friends and I've also received permission for new hunting grounds as well.

Thought I would fill this in some more. This week I spoke to 1/2 a dozen people about hunting, just in casual conversation. Most lived in Ms. where I was. One lived in Md. right in an area I love to hunt. This last guy lives in Ks and is very well connected. We hit it off right away. As we were talking about what we do and where he lived I find out he has an exclusive farm. The light bulb lit up. My next question was, "Can I hunt it? I only bow hunt." That has now lead to I think I'm flying out in a few weeks to go hunt. I also have business possibilties to talk about with this guy but the hunting sound awesome. Nobody hunts the farm for deer. I can't wait. I hope I can fit it into my schedule.

Bottomline, always talk hunting in casual conversation. That's how I get my hunting places where monsters hang out. It's why I don't need to spend money on leases as well. I have more places now then I can possibly hunt and always looking for more. It allows me to be picky on where I go.

Good luck

Congrats FM....I've used your tip from a while back to score 400 acres myself this year.

"Start a conversation with a farmer about crop damage"...priceless info and it worked for me

Fieldmouse !

I just scored today as well, I've got a farm that grow's pumpkin's and they are having a hard time getting them off because of the deer .His only stipulation was NO GUNS and that's just fine by me .He also said that there are treestands already up .He had other's there the last couple of season's ,but one moved out of the area and the other left too much garbage around, so he got the boot.Good for me huh?He also said that the other's both filled thier tag's in the last couple of season's with great buck's.
I'm very much like you I let people know that I like to bowhunt and this is exactly how I got permission .
My son's baseball coach and I have become pretty good friends and he asked his father in law about someone hunting his property, he agreed to it as long as there was no garbage and no gun's involved .
I'm heading over there in about an 1/2 hour to meet the owner and I'll let you know about his property. He's in a very famous area for deer, and I've been hoping to find a place to hunt in this area. Hopefully I've struck gold on this one .
