I think that is exactly right. It also depends on where the deer dies. If it is shade or in direct sunlight, or if it is in the bottom of a dark revine.

I would still suggest getting out therein the morning though, but not before good morning light. From the decription of the arrow, I'd have to say the deer is probably dead but may be up to 12-15 hours from the hit. Good luck, and let us know please.

Good news guys went out this morning 8:00 to start tracking didnt find any blood at the spot were my arrow was laying walked around for a while finally found some dark red blood on a leaf and started tracking had good blood all the way it crossed a stream and died in a thicket 10 yards away from a field it was an 85 pound doe it is my 3rd deer ever first of the season now I can go after that buck thanks everyone for the replies and good luck I still dont know why my arrow was covered in green but I still had a blood trail the pics are getting developed now I am getting a picture cd I dont have a scanner but I think you can copy and paste cant you. THANKS
