I passed up a seven point on Sunday night and a big six point last fall because they had no eye guards. I think it is an age thing. But it could be genetics.

He might be 2.5 years - but I wouldn't be surprised, and suspect that he was 1.5 yrs - Check for the "milk teeth" - you should be able to verify 1.5 or 2.5.

I think - its not too uncommon to see no brows after a tough winter.

Congrats on the nice buck - I really enjoyed the picture.

I think it is very young. With very good potential. Got to love the new Pa laws. Should be the big buck capitol here soon.

Congrats on a beautiful deer. I think genetics play a large role in those things and also i really think that deer is only an "1 1/2" year old = first rack, but still a beautiful deer.

that looks like a 2.5 year-old to me, no brow tines because of genetics I would also conclude

Congrats on your buck!

Here's a pic of a 6 with no brow tines taken earlier this summer. He was in an enclosure next to one of the roadway projects where I was surveying. They just kept following us up & down the fence line. If only it were that easy to get that close in the real woods...

My guess as well would be the genes, but you just never know. Nice buck by the way.
