Default Mchigan Opening day Yote

ASAT 3D Leafy
Away Bowgrunter plus
AR 34 ram.5
Easton Excel
Rocket Ultimate Steel 75
Trufire X caliper
CJ DN3
Doinker and Sims out the wazoo

She was chasing 2 does and made the mistake of stopping when I grunted at full draw. About 5 yard shot and never had a clue I was there...even after the shot.

They are not the easiest animal to take with a bow.

Tru_shot! that's a great looking coyote,I had a very close call with a Timber Wolf 2 day's ago on the moose hunt ,unfortunately I didn't make the shot count when I needed to .I guessed for 30yrds put the pin on a front shot to the heart and the arrow skipped undernieth her ,after pacing it off she was actually 36yrds not 30 Guess I should have used the rangefinder. Next time.

How'd ya do for Moose John??

I think I told you that has always been my dream hunt....Big Bull moose with a bow. Up close and personal.

Your lucky (and un-lucky maybe) to have the wolves. They're only a very few in the UP and they're protected. They found one dead from a bullet wound last year and there was one hell of a stink up there about it. 30-40 officers, helicopters...they're pretty serious about it I guess.

You probably see them like I see yotes...competition

Tru_shot!

They're not a protected species here we have lot's of them in the north ,I sure would have liked to have this one at the taxidermist right now but that's how it goes.
Now as for the moose hunt ,it was absolutely horrid for black flies and mosquito's this season the weather was definetly against us as it was in the mid 20's the whole 2 week's.Some of the bull's were responding to the call's but weren't coming to the call's .We had a couple very close encounter's but we made some serious mistake's which cost us from bringing a moose home. I had a couple moose on different occasion's within 30yrd's but wasn't able to cash in on them since they wouldn't commit 100% to my calling, but that 's how it goes ,so I'll have to wait for next season I guess . Now I'm ready to commit to this season's deer hunt but as the weather is still a bit warm and this weekend I'm committed to the kid's and the beginning of hockey season I'll not get out for another week anyway's .

Yeah that's why they call it hunting I guess. I'll probably scream like a girl if (WHEN!) I ever get that close to one.

I't's gotta be a crazy rough way to take one...from what I saw in my few ventures the terrain is very conducive to shooting lanes
