I love a good deer story and that was a good one!

Way to think outside the box.

Great hunt and congrats - but I have a question ....

I have a simlar area near me but I've never hunted it - my fear is that the deer will bolt out into traffic when I stick it .... I don't want to be responsible for a collision (my luck it would be a PETA person driving).

Any thoughts or comments ?

As far as worrying about it bolting out into traffic...the thought did cross my mind, but I felt confident enough that it would stay in the woods. Now, I didn't have to worry about it with my lucky shot, but I still feel that way. In the spot of woods I'm hunting it's kind of sparse around the edges with one little spot, maybe 2 acres worth of really thick stuff somewhere in the middle. I felt pretty certain it would head for that if when I stuck it. There are at least 5 more in there that I know of and I'm planning on trying to take one more before leaving this area alone for next year.

Also, a note about carbons and mech broadheads...the previous post was correct. I shouldn't have made such a blanket statement. FOR ME, they sure are the ticket.

I'm shooting an old PSE that I got years ago.

I can't imagine how fast a new Mathews Outback would zip that arrow downrange. Alas! The 700 dollar price tag means I'll probably never know.

Congrats on the freezer meat! It sounds like the hunt was a lot of fun! Good luck for the rest of the season.

Default as promised...here's a pic

Here's a pic.

I'm in GA.

How do you guys get these big images in your posts? It says there's a 100kb size limit. The one I uploaded is 80 and it's tiny.

Maybe it's my camera...it's 6 megapixels.
