i did a doe tonight and tracked her about 50 yds. because of low light and a small blood trail. this is going to drive me crazy especially seeming i've never had a deer go more than around 50 yards. makes me feel like i hit her not good but i keep replaying it in my mind and it was perfect. and the arrow smells funny is that normal even fora long hit? i'm not going to beable to sleep tonight

If the arrow smells funny you most likely got gut and although recovery is doable it will tough. Best thing you did was back out for the night, hope you didn't push her too hard before dark.
