I have bowhunted since the early 90's and never used carbon arrows. I only shoot short range and have had good luck. But I was going to get some more arrows lately and I noticed the carbons are as cheap or cheaper in some cases. Any opinions from the more dedicated archers would be appreciated. I usually only bowhunt early as an excuse to get in the field before the firearms season. Early scouting and if I get a deer with the bow before Nov it's a bonus. Thanks and good luck to everyone this fall.

Gold tips. Havnt found anything better so far. Bemans were ok, didnt like the finish on them though. Easton carbon excels worked great for the two years i used them, but then my pro shop started carrying gold tip, so i started shooting them and havnt gone back. The spine on them can sometimes be a little wierd though, given your length and draw weight specs. I had to bump up to 5575s because of the longer length in my arrow.

My son and I were shooting together at the same target. He shot carbons I shot aluminum his bow was 50lbs mine was 60. Same feild point weight. His penetrated further. I now shoot carbons. Stay away from the cheap ones. I am shooting vipers now and will change after the season. I would change now but its a budget issue.
