Hi
I am just starting out bow hunting and recently got a Hoyt Vipertec for Christmas. I was wondering what type of arrows are suggested with this bow, carbon or aluminum( I have a drop away rest). Also I have a 28'' draw back (60lbs weight) and was wondering what length arrow I should get. Any suggested will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Go to a local proshop that has a excellent reputation and have him set things up for you.
Go with carbon's, you wont be disappointed
Edit: Local proshop does not mean Walmart, Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, Gander Mountain, or anything like anyof the above!

I hope this is the beginning of a great bowhunting career for you. I, and I stress the I, would recommend A/C/C arrows or carbons. They are more expensive, but they are also more durable, straighter, lighter (oh no there is a whole new argument). The length that you will need is best done by drawing the bow back with a full length arrow on it and having someone mark it about 1" in front of your rest. I am assuming that you are having a proshop prepare your arrows for you. If so, then they will take care of all of that. If you have your own cutter, than measure all the following arrows off of the first to ensure that they are all the same length. You will probably hear arguments for all types of arrows and some will say the heavier the better. They aren't wrong either, so weigh your options carefully for yourself before you decide.

Aluminums bend, carbons can explode and injure the shooter upon release. I shoot A/C/C as these are an aluminum arrow wrapped in carbon. The best of both worlds. They shoot and perform great. $140 a dozen.

If you can afford it, get an Alluminum/Carbon arrow such as A/C/C or FMJ's.
Both are excellent arrows and provide the benefits of both alluminum and carbon.

Acc's have workded well for me, but they will still break on occasion. They are super srtaight from the factory witch will help make you a better shooter. Maybe even somday as good as me. Thats gospel.
