They are freakin horrible here!!!!! I have been using an unscented wipe but I know the deer can smell it anyway. You really have to play the wind with that stuff on. I have some pretty big whelts from last night in spite of the bug spray. My poor kid, looks like the chicken pox.

Bring on the frost!

I bought one last year and love it. It is some what akward to secure when in a tree stand but with some thought it can be accomplished. I bought the compact model. The disadvantage to that was I had to cary a lighter to light the the thing. I will be buying one that has the igniter built in. Overall I would recomend the thermacell to anyone.

I wonder if a person could use the spent mat for doe pee later in the season after the misquitos are gone. There several different products out there that claim by heating the scent it travels further and is more effective. I did not get the chance to try it last year.

I have tried the "no stinkin bugs" and it works, but it smells just like "off" to me.

I used No Stinkin' Bugs last year and had no problems with it. This year I've purchased a Thermacell. I'll still carry some No Stinkin' Bugs spray for those really windy days though.

I used NO STINKIN' BUGS last year and it worked great! It does have a smell to it for about 20 minutes until it dries and when it is dry it smells like dirt(red can).I will use it again this year for sure.

I used a thermacell last year and it works great. They came out with a case for it this year so I can strap it on a limb next to me or hang it on my bowholder. When you buy one get a refill kit with it. you will need it. I don't crank mine up util late in the day
