Hunters feeding the hungry type programs.
Is there anyone here that can help me out? I'm looking to find contacts to these type of programs in the local areas around Raliegh, NC. There is a massive population of whitetails here, and each hunter can harvest up to six deer each. There is a serious overpopulation of does, in comparison to bucks here, so I'm planning to do my part for QDM, and get as many does as possible. BTW, kudos to my wife for the idea.

Here's some more info.
Hunters for the Hungry
The Federation is an original supporter of this non-profit organization dedicated to providing high quality venison to people in need of food. Founded in 1993, the group accepts legally harvested white-tailed deer from hunters. The meat is processed at facilities inspected by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and distributed to needy people through food banks. More information including a list of processors, can be obtained by calling the Federation office at 800-264-6293 or by writing NC Hunters for the Hungry: P.O. Box 10502, Raleigh, NC 27505-0502.

If you think there is a massive over population in our area, you aint seen nothing yet. A little north of us you can shoot two Does/day for 6 months. That's a different subject. When I shoot deer here in NC I've dropped deer off at selected butchers in the program. They need to be skinned and qtr.
The program is an excellent and it can open up a lot of property for you to hunt.
Good luck.
