Default Youth setup questions

My 13 year old is bowhunting this year and I am setting him up the following
Browning Micro Midas 38 pounds, 24 inch draw
XX75 1816 platinum 23 inches long
Rocket 100 grain Ultimate Steel (not an open on impact)

Should this work on deer and turkey?????

got the same set up for mine 13 year old and it not a bad set up. the 10" of draw length change is great. My boy is shooting the cheapest carbons and a boddolle rest.
It has been dependable. The one thing he has as a problem is his form...
Good luck good hunting

38# may be a little light but within 15-20 yards max should be ok remember shot placement is the most important part so practice ,practice , practice

The only thing I would change is the broadhead.
The rocket is a great head but I would look into a magnus 2 blade or bear razor-lite for the cut on contact advantage.
My 13 year old son is shooting a PSE nova game sport @ 25" draw and 40 lb. with 1916 arrows and bear razor heads and he is getting great penitration in 3-d and bag targets with this setup.
I just hope we find out what it will do on deer this year.

My son started on something very similar to that. He never got a deer with it but we did try. He is now 16 and shooting a 66 lb xTec. It is amazing how fast they grow. Enjoy this season as the do grow fast. Also thank you for taking your children. I know several guys who think their kids have no place in the woods with them or even on canadian fishing trips. Funny their kids spend more time with my son and I.

He is shooting the 1816's with 75 grain Ultimate Steels and grouping good at 200 FPS. Is that enough energy guys??

It's definitely not going to win any penetration awards... but if he keeps it close and puts it in the right place he should win.
