Default Bowtech rest ?

I am about to cross over to the other side. I have owned 2 Mathews but am getting ready to cross over to a BowTech. I am leaning toward a Pat VFT. As long as I can find one that has 80% let off. The main question I have is How much trouble will a drop away rest give me. I was told by a dealer that certian drop aways will give you problems due to the lack of cable travel. I looked this up with the search and saw other instances of where people had some problems. I also herd that BowTech was advising people steer clear of MZE and Trophy Ridge rest. I used a MZE on my Q2 and liked it. The shop I go to recommended a Bodoodle doodle-drop. I do not have the bow yet but want be prepared when I get it.
Let me know what the scoop is with Drop aways and VFT bows thanks Jim

I have the Patriot VFT. I had the trophy taker for 3-D season with no probmens. I have since switched to the APA ultimate twister. I have had no problems with either drop away.

You will have no problems finding 80%. Goodluck.

On my Extreme VFT I had a Trap door and a drop zone on it with no problems either.

Also had a trophytaker on my MightyMite VFT. No problems

Own a Patriot and own and love the Drop Zone. No problems with it thus far - arrow flight is great. Bowtech customer service lives up to it's name.......as I'm finding out right now.

I have had virtually no problems with my Justice and Trophy Ridge Drop Zone. The night i picked it up I had a very minor vane clearance issue, 5 minutes later the tech had it resolved and i have had no issues since then

I have the Ultra rest on my extreme vft. It works really well. I like the ultra because it keeps the arrow on the rest. I'm sure any of the previously mentioned rest's will work fine.

The single cam bowtechs have an adjustable let off and valley, you just have to play with the modules and the draw stop a little to get it right. A good dealer should be able to help you out. I changed mine on my mighty might VFT. I have a very slight valley and probably 80 percent or better let off. I used a 25.5 inch module and we tweaked the draw stop until I got 26 inches of draw out of it. Have a dealer help you however, because if you adjust the draw stop wrong you can mess up your buss cable.

Drope Zone seems to be the way to go on a Bowtech. I have one and it works pretty well. I am a big Muzzy Zero Effect fan, but I just couldn't get it to work well enough with this laid back limb design. Not enought travel on the cable guard. However muzzy makes a model that hooks to your buss cable, it's for the roller guard models that mathews makes, but I bet it would work well on a bowtech as well. If you don't want to go with a drop a way, any prong rest will work just fine. I had a GFK Platinum premier on mine to begin with. A whisker bisciut type rest should work fine as well.

And if you get one of these bows, they love simms products, just figure in the price of some limb savers with the bow. The vibra blocks work ok, but the limb savers are better. I have both on my bow. Looks kind of doofy, but it works well.

Good luck,
Paul

I've had very good luck with the Trophy Taker Original and NAP 4000 rests. With the Patriot single you can set the let off at 80%, not so on the Dually.

I love the MZE on my pro 38 dually. I don't know why they say to stay away from them but I couldn't live without mine.
