@#$% Coyotes.

Opening morning had a pack of coyotes pass about 50 yds in front of me[:'(] and then last night just as I sat down I heard something running through the woods then I saw a nice buck jump up 75-100 yds in front of me and run right past my stand with @#$% coyote in pursuit. I just had to sit there and watch cause I hadn't even pulled my bow up yet. The coyote came back by a few minutes later but stayed just out of range this time but I will promise everyone some coyote stew shortly;)

Try a fawn in distress call to bring those yotes in and then tack the to the ground! It's the only way I know to solve the problem.

I am with adams. I would start carrying a turkey call, a fawn distress, and a mouse squaker with me and I would shoot at everyone that gave me a shot. I would also go back after the season and try to call up and kill as many as possible.

IMO coyotes are never out of range. ;)

Elk-40 yard limit
Deer-50 yard limit
Coyote-about 120 yards...Don't care where I hit them.....

Where I rifle hunt in northern PA, We kept seeing a huge blond male yote chasing deer for a couple years. Even other guys were talking about it. Well, I have to brag that he died a sudden death when he stood too close to me one snowy morning. I heard something running up the bench toward me and though it was a buck, When he popped up over the edge I already had my crosshairs on him. He stopped for a moment to smell the air. I gave him a wiff of gunsmoke, shot him in the neck. I would say he was close to 50 pounds. I dragged him up the mountain for my bros. to see. I left him on a rock to sun himself after that. He had a really long nose compared to others I have seen so I guess he was a mature one. Too bad it wasn't a female.....

I wonder what the coyotes think of us as they hunt to survive in their domain while we intrude to hunt mainly for entertainment and trophies?

I bet they would think we were pretty tasty if we died out there.:)

I bear no malice to coyotes but we have a serious over population and mange in the population.

check yoru local ordinances there might be a bounty on them in yoru area.. i know there is around here. i dont think it is much but peoples dogs have been attacked latley.. they found a colar and a spine of a small dog a couple of months ago...

needless to say if they run past my stand i have a couple EXTRA, OLDER broad head tipped arrows that im sure are not as sharp as they used to be that i target practice with... and who ever said that the fawn distress call works.. 110% correct.. if you hear them or if you have a gut pile around do that call and you wil see them come RUNNIN. i scouted about 10 different sets of prints in the AREA thath i hunt.. i better not loose a deer to them.. i will be pissed. i iwll be bagging myself soem coyotes this year thats for sure...
