RE: @#$% Coyotes.

I wonder what the coyotes think of us as they hunt to survive in their domain while we intrude to hunt mainly for entertainment and trophies?
Who cares? [&:]

RE: @#$% Coyotes.

I've had 6 fawns, 1 doe, and 8 turkeys killed on my property in the last 6 months, not to mention that they have littered a consistently used buck trail with their scat. Now this would be OK if I had 1,000 acres but on 30 I need to do some damage control. I have never killed an animal just for the sake of shooting something but don't know what else to do. I have now declared war on these guys. Purchased a new 223 super short action rifle, the wildlife research pro caller to help eliminate them. They also killed 6 geese that live on the property. Enough is enough. I heard if ya get one, they won't be too eager to return soon. I'm almost as excited about coyote season (10/1) as bow season (10/15). Good Luck w/em & I'll try some of that stew.

I live in Potter County PA. I've noticed an increase in Coyote population over the past few years. The only good coyote is a dead one. I have seen them chasing deer alot while spot lighting. I wish you could shoot them from your truck. I'd be glad to have the pgc tag along to make sure I'm not poaching deer, i just want to get rid of every freaken yote that calls this county home. lol They are worthless in my eyes.

We have them on our place but we can never find them in the day light. Any ideas for getting the D@MN things? Any time I have had one get near me in the woods the spot me right away. I feel sorry for you guys that can't hunt them all the time. For WI they are open all year no limit. Guess we know what the WI DNR feels about them.

Texasaggie - Nice one.:D

I have had that problem a couple of times over the years. I wish I would of shot but they never came into range. I also had wild dogs chasing a doe on one occassion and I would of shot but I thought they were my buddies coon dogs but they were not!

CG I was thinking the same thing, a coyote out of range?, impossible. I would be flinging arrows at that thing out to 75yds.

To truly enjoy hunting is to compete with ALL elements. I have no problem with culling animals as long as it is legal and necessary. It is the constant whining I read of wanting all the coyotes gone, kill all the squirrels, kill all the crows, kill of those damn pesky geese, etc, so one can just see deer.

I would suggest that if one wants hunting to be that desolate and so defined, purchase or rent a bowhunting video game.

I'm with c903 - Why shouldn't we be thrilled to have them around? We have quite a few too, and alot of deer. I've seen where they've killed a couple - and consider myself lucky for the experiences I've had with them.

I'd take one with a bow in a heartbeat - but as a worthy trophy - not as some second-rate, sorry-ass excuse for an animal some as you portray them to be?

I'd like to hear some of the reasons people hate/fear them so.........

post away.
