HOW IS UR SNAKE POPULATION?
#11
Well fellas I understand your fear of snakes but I am not a fan of killing them. They serve a pupose in the eco system. I am not a tree hugger by any stretch of the imagination but killing just to kill is a bad idea. I like any animal that kills rats and mice so I would suggest keeping the snakes around.

Here in Texas we have all your basic poisonous snakes Cottonmouths, Copperheads, Rattle Snakes, and Coral Snakes. The good news is that we have lots of feral hogs on the place and they usually keep the snake population low so we try not to kill to many hogs. Hogs are the lesser of 2 evils and provide year round hunting oppurtunity.

well i dont just kill the snakes to kill them .i kill them only if they are by the dog pen or if im walking down a trail and there is one in front of me ready to strike but if i see one that isnt any threat to me or my animals i leave it alone.

This year is the worst for us I havent seen many in a long time then this year I have shot 2 water moccosins(big ones too), and ive seen 2 water snakes and a black racer and we killed a coral snake in the yard last week which was really neat Ive NEVER seen one in person and this one was huge they only grow to maby 1' and this one was every bit of 1' and he was just headed off across the yard I love snakes and really hate to kill them but with kids and dogs around here its just to much of a hazzard to let them be so ive had to kill the 3 poisinous snakes ive seen, and ive seen alot of dead oak snakes, black racers and rattlers in the road latley too
