Get em out there as soon as possible and get your stinky arse out of the woods!!![:-] I leave most of my stands out and just tighten and trim them up well before season opener.

If you know where you want it get it up. I think the most important thing is to get it brushed out right away, and give the deer time to get used to it!

Good Luck!

Ok I have to adress this....No offense to anyone really.....but if deer have to get used to your stand, dosent that mean they can see it, if they can see it ,they can see you. I just hung one this afternoon sat down to check out the view and I had just enough time to plant my behind down on the seat when 2 does walked inches from where my pull up rope was hanging.
the same place where I was sweating and cussin just 15 min before they showed up....so all in all I would pay more attention to where you put it rather than when you put it up.........Deer throw me off sometimes...Its 10% homework + 90% luck =100% success

Maybe, maybe not. If your setting up on a food source, that food source might change by the opener. Will the corn be picked or still standing? Will the beans still be standing? What about the alfalfa? Does the farmer plan on cutting it around the opener, or will it have already grown back? Will a white oak be dropping acorns back in the woods? I know some treestands produce every year so they can be hung now, but I learned long ago when hunting early season food sources you need to ANTICIPATE as best you can what the deer will be doing THEN not NOW. Or you'll be changing your set ups right before the opener. Just someting to ponder.

Say you walk through your living room everyday of your life. Nothing is sitting on the coffee table for 6 months. Suddenly one day you notice a cup is there that hasn't been there ever before. You'll take notice obviously that something is very different. Now leave that cup there on your coffee table in the same spot for the next 4 months. Do you think that you'll give it a second glance when you come home and walk into your living room after it has been in the same place for 4 months? Or will you become immune to it and get used to it "just" being there??
Same concept IMO. They just will know something is different in their living room. The longer that something is out there for them to accept that its' a part of their living room the better.

yeah I do understand the concept and agree with it, but put the coffee cup in the dark corner of the hallway celing where I travel everyday, chances are I will never notice it.....
In my neck of the woods the deer dont seem to look to much in the trees for predators....I guess they havent caught on yet
And I shure as heck dont look for my coffe cup on the celing either...lol...friendly ribbing thats all
Just do what makes you feel confident...
