How pumped is everyone for the upcoming season?
 

I'd like to know how everyone is feeling for the upcoming bowseason? Expectations, confidence, etc. I know I've been ready since the end of last year's season.:D

Well we lost last years hunting property so this year its a whole new ball game. I'm very excited. I just got back from setting up stands for 7 1/2 hours today and it's looking pretty good.

I'm deffinately anxious for season to get here. This will be my first season with a bow, so hopefully it goes well. I've still got to place my stands and season is only 23 days and a wake up away. I'm quickly running out of time...

I can't wait for the season to start. Put up a few stands locally today, next weekend I'm hanging stands at my WI property, then coming back home to hang one or two last sets before letting things sit until the season starts.

Plus I just got done ordering some more climbing sticks from Bass Pro Shops, and some new camo. All I do anymore is watch hunting shows/DVDs or read this board or the nearest hunting magazine. It's getting out of control. :D

Unfortunately for me I just started a new job this past week so I'm not sure I'll get to hunt nearly as much as I want, but I'm just gonna have to make the best out of what I get. Expectations are certainly high at this point. Especially today after talking to a couple farmers tell stories about the big one they've been seeing all summer.

I can't wait for the season to start!!! I went out today and check on a couple of stand I had up last year, and found a couple of places to hang new ones, I'm really excited.

Plus, once season gets here, maybe I'll stop spending so much money on hunting stuff - at least for a few months!!! ;)

I'm way pumped, I already have that "can't sleep at night, like it's your first time goin huntin, feeling." Running situations through your head, thinking of the ones that got away and if you could only have it back again. Yeah I know ya'll know what I'm talkin about.;)

man i tell ya im so pumped...im ready!!! see my uncle owns a ton of land here in nebraska and i can hunt on any of it i want so....today me and my dad went driving around and looked at the possible spots i would want to put a stand at, i think i found the spot though!!!

This will be the toughest 32 days of my life. About this time every year I start getting antsy and it dosn't end until mid December. I've been field scoring deer in my sleep.

I'm ready! I've been shooting the heck out of my Black Hole target in my back yard. Over and over and over and over..... [8D] I've even gotten crazy enough to get up on my back porch roof and sling a few arrows from up there too! ;)

52 more days and there hasnt been an hour that goes by that i dont say thats one more hour down... xxx amount of hours left. wahooo. every night i remember at leats ONE dream about hunting.. its getting bad. i might need help.............

I'm pumped! Been practicing off and on since April and now shooting 4 times per week. Shortly, I will get into the rythm of only shooting my 1 arrow per day routine to focus on that all important 1 shot!

As for my hunting areas and expectations, I am a little concerned about certain areas that we hunted heavily during the fall bow season last year and our shotgun seasons. There were times in January where we pushed/drove 50+ deer and slaughtered many of them. I have a feeling this area will be quiet this coming season as my friends have been telling me they haven't been seeing too many deer there. I have scouted and seen signs, but not as many as last year. However, when it cools this fall this area might heat up. I am sure the first half of my bow season will be a test to determine the quality areas.

One thing I am really pumped about is a friend of mine is an assistant greens keeper at a golf course and he has secured that course for us to hunt. Should provide for some good hunting this season as it will be the first time they are allowing anyone to legally hunt there and the deer are used to human scents, etc.

im so pumped i want a counter to count down the seconds set up on my computer. i think im gonna try to write a C++ program to do this... hmmm unless one or more of you out there know where i coudl get one...:)

Im ready, pumped, focused, seen lotsa Deer/Hog sign stands are up and ready for Oct 1st...though all ill probably see is Does and Yearlings...lol
My wife was embaresd this weekend when we went through the sporting goods section of Wal-Mart and they had all the cammo out . So I started singing " Its the most wounderfull time of the year" verry loud

Still got a month of waiting to do. Switching to carbons this year, get them tomorrow!! A month to sight-in. I'm ready to hunt!!

Its excellent to see the enthusiasum out there.

I've been shooting my bow about every day. I've also spent a lot of time in observation stands glassing fields. Man, that gets my heart pumping.

Found a couple good stands of white oak bearing mast which should make for a deadly set-up when acorns drop.

I'm overall very confident about this season. We'll see how things unfold in 43 days!

All I have to do is descent my clothes and I'm ready to go. All my stands have been hung for atleast 3 weeks, all shooting lanes cut, etc, etc..... It feels like fall already today, so that doesn't help the urge much. Will the day ever come? lol

Oh yes! I'm ready to go .I'll be heading North this Sept for the archery moose hunt then when I get home I'll walk right into the deer hunt .So let the games begin.

man i am really excited to go this year for 2 reasons.1 i just moved here so it is all new grounds and second this will be my first year with a bow.i had just put out a stand the other day i see at least 6 deer there every evening so hopefully i bring a big one home this year :D

Since this year will be my first to try bow hunting I'm understandably vibrating . A friend showed me a great spot to set up , so I should get something . :)

The stands are up, the clover is growing and the signs of deer are everywhere. Been shooting since May 1st...now all I need to do is find the patience til Oct. 1st. So far...not so good.

Not really pumped or exicited at all. Only thing on the cameras is small young bucks and does. Nothing to write home about. Wonder if I will even bother with it much this year..

I wrote a shell script on my Unix server at work that captures the date/time stamp and calculates the days left until Virginia bow season opens up!

I have been irritating my wife since about May. I get so pumped for hunting, but last year I only got to bow hunt a couple of times because I just got my bow. This year I will be hunting as much as possible. Sometimes I try not to look at the date, just so the season will sneak up on me. Then I look at the calendar and see it felt like a week, but it has only been a day. Sept. 18 can not come soon enough!!!!

Ready? I have been accused of being addicted to buying everything that has to do with bowhunting. All I care to do any more is bowhunt and the things that go with it. I shoot every chance I get. I have been going to the property almost every weekend to check the cameras as well as working on food plots and scouting for sign.

When not doing the above I have been going thru the Cabelas (Hard cover) Book they send me for being such a great customer. At lunch I go to Gander Mountain (only 5 minutes away). They know me by name there. I even spend a couple of hours of my work day here checking out this site. Just don’t tell my boss. I do the computer work here so I can delete the logs and they can’t tell I was ever here.:D

So yes I am ready. Bows are tuned and arrows are flying great. Just have to wait until September 18.[:@]

I won't be pumped until the end of October. Season may open in one month but I hate the tick infested deer until after first frost. I have my awesome honey hole secured again for this year. Now I'm trying to come uip with a way to film my hunts.

I hunt and live in central Alberta, just finished setting up my stands. I've been chasing a whitetail since last season and he is a hog....., maybe this year!
