It looks like if you want to use that stand this year...the wasps gotta go. I will try to get a picture of what I use for those pesty little problems.

I have a propane tank with backstraps and a 4 foot wand with a 3" bell on the end. The same thing that road crews usw for melting holes in asphalt to sink street signs.

Simply light the wand....aim at nest(30 feet is no problem)and give one very short burst of flame.

It will totally annialate the nest and its contents with very little or no damage to your stand.

It only takes a one second blast to do the job completely.

You can probably borrow or rent one of these propane torchs, but be very careful not to do this in real dry conditions!!

I have done nothing. I decided to just let the little bastards have it, for now that is. I have more stands I can setup. I will just nock the nest loose after the frost comes.[:'(]

dude be a man and just sit up there and take it, Just kidding this is why I take my stands down each year you only have to have Missippi wasps take your stand once to learn a lesson.

Personally, I love the idea about blowing the damn thing up. Just make sure you post the outcome of your attempts.

I was just looking through some pics on the PC the other day and remembered this. So here is the update you guys asked for

Sorry to disappoint you guys with the big ideas of explosions, rifles, shotguns and large fires. I merely threw a couple large sticks from ground level to knock it loose.

On a side note I never ended up hunting out of this stand this year. Conditions were never right when I had this spot in mind[&:] I was all worked up over nothing

It's a shame all of that for nothing. I can help you with unused stands next year.
