im a total speed freak... my friend SocialD and I built a tennis ball launcher that shot 140+ FPS, but we couldnt stop there we had to keep going. so he designed a barrel for 1" superballs, and we got it up to 551 fps.... now only if i could do that with MY BOW!

coudl you imagine shooting 400+ fps? you wouldnt be able to see it hit the deer, and they really woudlnt know what hit em.

He can't understand why it doesn't bother me that my Legacy only shoots 275-278 fps.

For a hunting rig, I would consider you a speed freak

Yep I feel the need. However it's out of my bikes. Drag racing is one of my other crutches.
Fastest or should I say quickest I've been so far is 122 MPH in 6 seconds flat @ the 1/8 mile. 147 MPH in 9.3 seconds, @the 1/4 mile. These are street legal motorcycles. Now for my bow sure faster is better but I'm happy with 270fps thats where I'm at.

Jimmy,
I don't know why you think the Nitrous cam draws hard. I have a SlayR and think the Nitrous cam draws like butter for a speed cam. I know it's a lot nicer than a lot of the single cam bows I've had. But then I'm only drawing 55lbs. The bow is shooting 293+ at that so why abuse myself. And this sin't my first bow. I've owned 25 compounds since 1974, so I've seen a lot.

I went from the 5575's to the 7595's and brought the speed down to the mid 260's. This out of a Mathews FX @ 67lbs 28" minimax tweaked to about 28 3/8ths. 7 3/8th brace on a 33.5 actually draw length bow. I can draw this bow all day. I mean can you believe the speeds we're getting today? This is nuts.

Yeah I'm always thinking about Speed. I really like a flat shooting set-up. But the more I play with it, its more the KE I'm worried about! Maybe I'm a KE freak!!!

Good Luck!

Cloud just keep putting heavier arrows through it and you will get more and more KE.

My hunting bow set at about 58 lbs 29 inch draw will shot a 300 grain arrow 292 feet per second. which is 57 ft lbs.

I settled in with a heavier arrow 411 grains going 262 which gets the KE up to 63 ft lbs. I find the bow is quieter with the heavier arrow, I can live with the trajectory and I got the KE I was looking for with a lighter draw weight. results in a well tuned rig that is very effevtive on whitetail deer.

Lot of trades offs to consider. Speed versus KE versus draw weight ect.

Trushot Here...closet speed freak I guess.

I had that Mighty Mite cranked up to 72lbs last year and really got them flying but when it got cold toward the end of the season...I almost hoped I wouldn't see anyhting so I wouldn't have to draw that bitch!LOL!

I dropped to 61lbs and get 291 with a 370 grain arrow but I may heavy up the arrows just a tiny bit to hunt this year.

I agree with BG on the Nitrous cams...Smoooooth to me?
